  • The Irony of the Nixon-Presley Meeting

A discrete perspective into Elvis Presley’s motivation to meet the 37th President of the United States. A matchless meeting, one would say, because of the iconic roles President Richard Nixon, and the “King of Rock and Roll,” Elvis Presley, held in the global society of the 1970s. And yet, it is exactly this premise that made them the perfect match for an event that would go down in history. You would believe the most requested photograph from the National Archives is an image of the moon landing when it’s actually President Nixon and Elvis Presley in the Oval Office. It’s the first insight into this story that Wide Angle’s host, Brendan Fallon, brings forth on this episode of the “This Day in History” special edition. In the early morning of December 21, 1970, Elvis was at the gate of the White House, leaving the guards a letter he wrote for the president during his flight from L.A. to D.C. "Sir, I can and will be of any service that I can to help the country out," the letter said. Through this “unusual request” he was trying to obtain a badge from the Federal Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. This would have been a nice addition to his police badge collection, but Elvis also wanted to become a federal agent. Thinking about a big publicity opportunity, the meeting with the president became possible through Egil “Bud” Krogh, an official in the administration, and a big Elvis fan. Although their conversation was awkward at first, it became coherent when the “King of Rock and Roll” brought forth the subject of American society’s destruction through drugs and the new developing culture. This was unexpected, coming from a person that by this time was known to have a “drug-charged eccentricity.” Nixon stated, “Drug users are at the forefront of the anti-American movement!” “I’m on your side,” replied Elvis. One of the things I appreciate about Wide Angle episodes is the subtlety with which some aspects are put into perspective. Going back to our story, probably Nixon didn’t consider it would be too big of a concern if the King would carry a federal badge, so he eventually got one for him. Fate wasn’t kind to both of them though. Four years later the Watergate scandal broke out, and Nixon became the first president that would resign from office. Meanwhile, Elvis started to feel the effects of long-term opiate abuse. Elvis had a gift from God that made him loved across the globe. His signature voice and creativity made him the first artist to chart at least 100 times on Billboard's Hot 100. The King started his career with faith songs, with three Grammy awards in the gospel category. But not everybody loved Elvis. After his rise to fame, the East German Communist Party leaders saw him as a threat and considered him a “weapon in the Cold War,” so they came up with an official dance called the Lipsi in an attempt to counter Elvis’s rock and roll. This made the youth of East Germany express their support even more openly for the King, demonstrating in the streets, with some of them getting arrested. It is not a stretch to say that Elvis’s influence was one of the decisive factors in the building of the Berlin Wall. It was not their tyrannical control that led to Elvis’s demise though. The same ultra-liberal culture that he denounced during his meeting with President Nixon was the one that charmed him, keeping him captive in the current of drug use, and liberty without morals. On August 16, 1977, Elvis was found dead in his Graceland mansion. Further investigation revealed his sudden death was due to heavy use and mixing of different types of drugs. “His talent was nurtured in humble beginnings. His brilliance snuffed out by excess and vice,” fades out the episode. Actually, this ending makes me want to learn more about Elvis Presley’s life, character, and influence, only to find that differentiating virtue from vice is not enough. • What Really Happened on Jan. 6 and Why Is the Left Hiding It?

Commentary Many Americans have watched the narrative of Jan. 6, 2021, unfold, whether in person as a witness to the rally, through social media, or from news channels on mainstream media. But what is largely missing is the truth. The EpochTV documentary entitled “The Real Story of January 6th” reveals the true events of that day, providing video footage that will leave you with chills. The House select committee on Jan. 6 deemed the events of that day “an attack on the American system.” The mainstream media has painted the events as comparable to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, or even the terrorist attacks of 9/11. It is being investigated as a potential insurrection and used to frame a new narrative on domestic extremism. Joshua Philipp, a senior journalist for The Epoch Times, says “the nation needs a serious examination of January 6th. One that includes subjects too often ignored in media coverage, and in political speech.” Interviews, on-the-ground reporting, and exclusive footage now tell the real story. What Happened That Day? Joseph Hanneman, The Epoch Times’ lead investigative reporter on Jan. 6, sets the stage for the events of the day, which started as a large gathering to hear then-President Donald Trump’s remarks on the election. Hanneman notes that Trump spoke at the gathering for a longer time than expected—meanwhile, there were already people at the capitol breaching security lines. The people Trump encouraged to go to the capitol peacefully were still listening to the president’s speech when this was taking place. Although the media is quick to display footage of violence from the crowd at the capitol, other footage shows an excessive amount of police provocation. Hanneman says the initial use of explosive munitions that day started early on with tear gas and hard plastic pellets. Some of these munitions were fired far into the back of the crowd, impacting people who wouldn’t have known what was happening in the front. Stan Kephart is one of the nation’s top experts on police use of force and one of the top-rated witnesses in court cases on crowd control, having 42 years of law enforcement experience. He labeled the police response a supervisory failure. “That was a shooting gallery up there, a congregation of officers—I didn’t see a supervisor among them—who were using these munitions to inflict harm and injury on people below them. It egregious.” Kephart goes into great detail explaining the protocol law enforcement is trained to follow in crowd control situations. He says firing munitions from above could take an eye out or injure people’s faces, while the importance of firing straight on is to hit the aggressor in the chest, stun them, and get them to retreat. Video footage also shows officers pushing a person off a wall, which Kephart notes is a serious crime.“It is unconscionable for an officer to do such a thing. That officer is required to take that person off the wall, strip cuff them, take them into custody, and arrest them.” Shooting at the level they were, Kephart says “there is no tactical reason at all,” saying they were “showing intent by shooting at that level.” These actions elicited an angry reaction from the crowd, contradicting what the officers’ mission should have been, which was to disperse the crowd and push them back. He called it “sadistic and wrong.” The Real Story of January 6 [Trailer]: Watch the full episode here. Who Died That Day? Four police officers from that day have since committed suicide. Officer Brian Sicknick was reported to have been beaten by protestors with a fire distinguisher, however, he was found to have died from a stroke the following day, not as a result of being struck with any object. Biden has continued to say that rioters killed two police, despite the lack of evidence. Protestor Ashli Babbit was shot and killed. Rosanne Boyland appeared to have died during the incident, although her death was initially ruled to be from a drug overdose. Benjamin Phillips and Kevin Greeson died afterward from health conditions that appear to have been triggered by munitions used against them. Kephart says that panic reactions are real in a compacted crowd and can trigger cardiac events or result in trampling, therefore the tools and tactics used by Capitol Police should reflect this liability. “What’s depicted here is a police mob confronting a mob and fighting with them using techniques and tactics they were not authorized to use,” he said. Victoria White from Rochester, Minnesota, said she was pushed into the tunnel entrance of the capitol by the momentum of the crowd and trapped against a wall. Video footage reveals that she was attacked by an officer and beaten for about 5 minutes, struck in the head and face by a metal baton. She said she told the officer beating her that he took an oath to the Constitution, and he called her an expletive before delivering what she said was one of the hardest blows. Video footage shows what appears to be the execution of Ashli Babbit by an officer at near point blank range, although Lieutenant Michael Byrd has been exonerated. Nevertheless, Byrd is shown on video to have his gun drawn and trained on Ashli Babbit as she enters through a window. He claims he told her to stop, however, it is not heard on any audio, nor could it likely have been heard at the time given the loud crowd noise in the hallway. Byrd, shown in a shooting stance, advances, lunges, and fires, striking her in the left shoulder. Kephart breaks down the discrepancies of this incident, from the questionable need to fire, to how the investigation of the event was woefully lacking. He noted the officer is shown firing without a safe backdrop and flees the crime scene instead of handcuffing Ashli Babbit and administering first aid as he should have. Kephart says that based on what he saw, Ashli Babbit was murdered. The killing of Ashli Babbit included a host of concerning details, including suspicious individuals on the scene, her trying to stop people from smashing windows, and even asking police officers why they weren’t stopping the protestors who were committing the vandalism. A SWAT team is shown coming up the stairway behind the crowd, and Alshi’s exit in the window seems to be either her trying to escape the dangerous situation that was escalating out of control, or her potentially being pushed through the window by key suspicious characters who were in the proper position to do so. Many of these characters remain unidentified, which is very strange considering they were involved in a crime scene. Rosanne Boyland was yet another life lost during the events at the capitol. The police had released a chemical irritant into a crowded tunnel, restricting oxygen and causing panic. Rosanne Boyland, who was in the tunnel, fell and was trampled. In this type of event, it is the duty of the police to render aid, but instead, the officers are seen pushing people out of the tunnel. Many in the crowd were begging the police to help Rosanne, but they would not and one officer even kicked a few people on top of her. She was down for around 5 minutes as protestors were trying to protect Rosanne, but one of the officers is caught on footage striking the fallen victim twice in the head and once in the chest. Another protestor came to the front and is seen yelling at the crowd to stop and telling them to pray. Someone gave him a crutch and he used it as a barrier to protect Rosanne from the police as other crowd members dragged her away and performed CPR. Eventually, the crowd laid her back at the foot of the police, asking for help. Hanneman said the way the officers eventually dragged her out reminded him of dragging a deer carcass. Some officers inside the capitol did try to save her, but by that time it is believed that she was already deceased. Her death was initially ruled to be from a drug overdose, but the finding was challenged and disputed. “I was horrified,” Kephart summarized of Boyland’s incident. “My conclusion in reviewing the officers’ behavior is that they were untrained, they were not properly equipped, they were not properly commanded and supervised, and that they did a reactive, fear struck, or anger struck, tactics where they punished people, rather than arresting or dispersing them.” He said what happened to Rosanne was “definitely a crime,” calling it assault and intent to do great bodily harm. Who Is Being Charged? As early as the very next day, the FBI and DOJ began rounding up subjects, dragging suspects and family members out of their homes and holding them at gunpoint with M4 carbines. Some 850 people have been arrested for primarily misdemeanor charges. To be charged simply with trespassing has resulted in many being shunned by their countrymen as traitors or even insurrectionists. Some have been fired from their jobs, based only on allegations. For others, the pressure was too much and they ended their own lives. Many defendants from Jan. 6 are still incarcerated, some denied bail and others held in solitary confinement, a form of incarceration deemed by the ACLU as a human rights abuse. Jake Lang is one of those defendants, saying he is in solitary confinement because they want to “torture me into taking a decade-long plea deal.” He calls his treatment “cruel and unusual punishment, and specifically because they want to send a signal out to the rest of the Americans, if you ever dare to stand for your Constitution and for your civil liberties, we will call you a domestic terrorist, we will drag you away from your home, and your family, and your community, and we will put you in deplorable conditions, torture you into ridiculous plea deals, and meanwhile drag your name in the mud through mainstream media.” According to the footage available, the most apparent act of violence seen was one man pushing a police officer over a barrier. However, those actions did not represent the majority of the crowd or even reach the same level as the nature of violence from the Black Lives Matter riots that happened earlier that summer. Many people at the Jan. 6 gathering did not even see violence taking place at all. The man who held up the crutch to protect Rosanne Boyland in her final moments, Luke Russell, was painted as an insurrectionist and now faces multiple charges, including assault of a federal law enforcement officer with a dangerous weapon and interference with federal law enforcement. The full context of many scenes from his involvement is not shown by mainstream media. Luke recounts that people were screaming that they couldn’t breathe. He is shown yelling at the crowd to stop and then being struck in the back while he did so, which is why he turned and held the crutch in a defensive position. “I just wish more could have been done to save her life,” he said. Russel has spent 45 days in prison and has had two plea deals offered, one for 4–5 years if he pleads guilty to felony assault with a deadly weapon (the crutch). The other was 8–14 months if he pleads guilty, but he refuses to do so. “The only thing they can do is kill me or put me back in prison, and I’m not scared either way. I’m ready to do whatever God calls me and whatever He wills for my life.” The group called “The Oath keepers” are the center of the prosecution, which alleges the group went to the protest to prevent the counting of electorate votes. However, this group is caught multiple times on film de-escalating conflict and protecting and assisting police officers. The question must be answered: why do the indictments from Jan. 6 make the victims out to be the aggressors, not the officers who were violating training and protocol and committing criminal acts? Perhaps more alarming than the aggressive nature of who has been charged is the amount of suspicious actors who have not been charged or even identified. Many who fall in this category include the same group of suspicious characters who seem to be instigating much of the violent activity. Kephart says the behavior of the police officers constituents a crime of entrapment—which invokes an arrestable response. He claims that many officers are guilty of inviting people into the capitol and then arresting them for trespassing. He says the Capitol Police created a circumstance where they could use force and make an arrest, with an attitude of anger, not only for what the crowd was doing but also for who they were. Normal protocols were not followed, people violated laws they did not know they were violating, and video evidence shows that many police could stand trial for use of force and murder, but they are not. Conclusion According to Joshua Phillip, video footage from that day certainly challenges the narrative set by the mainstream media. Jan. 6 is being used politically to demonize Trump and the entire MAGA movement, as well as justification to create new laws on terrorism. Crimes were committed, but investigations of crimes need to be made equally. Why is the mainstream media hiding the full context of events? Why have many of the main instigators not been charged? Only through truth can justice be served and Americans begin to heal.

  • Onsite Details on the FBI Raid at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Residency

Why did the FBI raid Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, when there already existed cooperation during a previous investigation? Host Roman Balmakov of Facts Matter jumped right into the discussion about the FBI raid that occurred on the Monday morning of August 8, at former president Trump’s property in Mar-a-Lago. His guest, Christina Bobb, is probably one of the best people to talk with about what happened during that day, as she was the first lawyer who arrived at the Mar-a-Lago residence on behalf of President Trump. The FBI was already conducting the search when Bobb, an attorney for Save America—as well as a lawyer for Trump, got to the location around 10:30 a.m. She assumed that the FBI must have shown a search warrant to the Secret Service that was guarding the residence, but they were reluctant to show it to her. Only after discussion did they agree to present the warrant to her and offer a copy after the search’s conclusion. The warrant was signed by Bruce Edward Reinhart, one of three federal magistrates in West Palm Beach. Bobb also requested to know the probable cause that the investigators needed to have for obtaining the search warrant. The probable cause for a search is the proof that there is sufficient reason to believe that the property is connected to a crime, or that a crime was committed. Regarding this, the FBI officers requested that it be sealed with the court, so they didn’t give anything to the lawyers. The legal procedure of sealing records allows civil or criminal records to be stored away from public access. Bobb said they will have to start the procedure of requesting the probable cause from the court and ask the magistrate who agreed to seal it to unseal it for limited purposes at least. She can’t tell how long this would take, or if the magistrate will grant their application. The raid came to an end around 6 p.m. that day. There were over two dozen federal law enforcement officers. The search was conducted in a peaceful way, keeping the place clean. The lawyer for Trump said she can’t confirm what they did. She, like everybody else, was not allowed to accompany them to oversee the search. She knows approximately what rooms were searched, and that they left with only a “handful of boxes of documents.” The FBI officers provided an inventory, but it’s still unclear at this time what documents were taken. According to Bobb, they were looking for presidential records and anything that could potentially be classified. Bobb says this drastic action taken by the FBI isn’t justified, as the former president and his lawyers were already very cooperative with the federal law enforcement officers back in June, when they requested to search the residence and came to investigate. Bobb considers President Trump was too nice back then, as he even stopped by when the agents were conducting the search and let them know they were welcome there. “They had access to it anyway, nothing had been hidden or kept secret from them which makes this all the more ridiculous,” said Bobb, while explaining why she sees all this as just another performance done with the purpose of discrediting the former president. Even more, she can see how it is convenient to present these actions as a national security matter since what they’re doing is wrong. They don’t want to disclose what they’re doing or why they’re doing it. The attorney for Save America isn’t concerned though, as she can’t think of anything incriminating in the files the federal law enforcement officers took, but she is waiting to see what they’ll come up with. There’s not actually any crime that has been committed, and it will be very hard to find the former president at fault under the U.S. Code Title 18 Section 2071 since they will need to prove that he intentionally acted in a malicious way towards the documents that they want to consider incriminating. Bobb is confident that this will not disqualify Trump from running again in 2024 to be the president of the United States once again. Bobb’s point of view came as a reinforcement that the former president’s legal team will remain strong and withstand any new attempt of diminishing Trump or subverting his stance in the current political arena and that they’re here in the fight to protect the United States of America. • The United States Is at Risk of Losing Its Freedom

The United States Is at Risk of Losing Its Freedom. We’re Getting Closer to an Ideology that is Communist. Gen. Michael Flynn’s Latest Interview Today’s greatest challenge is to not let yourself be deceived or distracted by unfolding events. I was expecting to kick off this episode of Facts Matter with the energetic attitude that host Roman Balmakov got me used to when general Michael Flynn’s sincere smile and kindness greeted me. The unexpected genuineness of a former National Security Director gave me a state of calmness that would follow along during the whole interview. The current Ukraine war situation, with the United States, possibly being dragged into a war in Europe, is concerning. But what’s more worrying for Gen. Flynn is what’s happening on the domestic front. The conversation starts with Roman presenting Gen. Flynn’s book, “The Field of Fight. How We Can Win the Global War Against Radical ISLAM and Its Allies,” and asking if radical Islamists are still a threat that we might have ignored. While the rise of radical Islamists in the global society actually increased, either by forming alliances with, or by being controlled by 5 powerful nations - China, Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, and Iran - these wealthy criminal cartels are just one component of a major problem that the US is currently facing, according to Flynn. The former National Security Director goes further into explaining how our citizens get killed by the drugs that flood the borders – fentanyl, opioids, heroin – and the criminals keep getting away with it. While the war on drugs might sound Sisyphean, it’s all because the wrong methods are being applied, as this problem is tightly connected to the illegal invasion of the U.S. border. Assuming that only 10% out of the 3 million people that were let into the country in the past 2 years are criminals – in reality, the percentage is higher – they would sum up more than the number of the United States Marine Corps, says Flynn. The younger generation is most vulnerable to drug dealers, which leads to other problems such as child trafficking and sex trafficking. “It’s the worst time of life to be a teenager,” added Flynn, as social media platforms such as TikTok are also a concern that should be taken into consideration. The danger here is that these platforms are controlled by big governments, “…and if the Chinese Communist Party is actually leveraging it (the platform) to change the culture and the behavior of the United States, they’re doing a damn good job,” emphasizes the general while answering one of Roman’s questions. The social media-controlled society is part of a very sophisticated component of warfighting, that Gen. Flynn calls fifth-generation psychological warfare. This is probably the most interesting part of the interview, as it enhances the deception and distraction methods used today against people to shift their perspectives away from what’s actually going on. Labels such as “conspiracy theorist” or “fascist” are being used on Gen.Flynn and others who dare to speak out against these methods. However, Dr. Yuval Noah Harrari, lead advisor to Klaus Schwab – the author of "Covid-19: The Great Reset," acknowledged their existence during the latest World Economic Forum. It seems that all these efforts of controlling people led to the socialist movement that the United States is experiencing right now. As a strong supporter of freedom, Gen. Flynn doesn’t think the U.S. will become a socialist country because the American people don’t want that. Efforts in taking our freedom away are done every day, and going after people that defend it is the principal one. But the former National Security Director encourages everyone to not become worn out by these efforts, “Take a day, take a break, figure out what motivates you, and look at your children, look at your grandchildren, and get back up. Dust it off, and get back to this fight for our freedoms,” he said. This is why he responded back by filing a $50 million claim against the FBI and DOJ, for malicious prosecution related to the Spygate investigation. The goal is to go after each individual that lied and defamed him, but that also brought damage to the country, and to the entire rule of law system. Things that, according to Gen. Flynn, the individuals in positions of power did intentionally. The whole interview was like an encouragement to continue to be strong and protect the American values and principles, no matter how difficult the trials and tribulations might be. It felt like a movie script unfolding, and I was waiting to see how the good will prevail. The sudden realization was that we are the writers of this script and, as Gen. Flynn encourages us, we already have what we need to stand for truth, privacy, and independence, so that good will eventually prevail.
