The World Health Organization’s (WHO) pandemic treaty has officially failed to pass. The controversial international treaty would have empowered the WHO to have deeper influence over global health policy. Yet, despite it failing to pass, top members of the WHO noted at the World Health Assembly that they don’t see this as an end. Various officials commented that they may have a deal within the next year or two.
In other news, a verdict is expected in the New York case against former President Donald Trump, and the judge has issued a ruling that could make a guilty verdict easier. Justice Juan Merchan has ruled that the jury does not need to unanimously agree on what predicate crime Trump may have committed.
